Founded by Benjamin Perrot and Florence Bolton, La Rêveuse is an ensemble of solo musicians that works on the heritage of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a period rich in artistic experiments and inventions of all kinds.
La Rêveuse is frequently invited to appear in prestigious venues in France and abroad, notably in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Russia, Japan, the United States and Canada.
The ensemble’s recordings have all been acclaimed by the French and international press and received a wide array of awards, including Gramophone Editors’Choice, Bestenliste of the Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, 5 croches Pizzicato, Joker Crescendo, Clef d’or Resmusica, Choc de Classica and Choc Classica of the Year 2017, ffff Télérama, 5 de Diapason, Choix de France Musique, Choix Radio Classique, etc.
Wishing to forge links between the different artistic disciplines, the ensemble often collaborates with the world of the theatre, literature & Fine Art in order to give a new slant to classic culture.
La Rêveuse was awarded in 2017 the Gold Medal of the Académie Arts-Sciences-Lettres for its overall achievement, and has received the label « European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 ».
Its most recent disc, Marin Marais : Pièces de viole, is avalable since january 2018, and is already awarded Gramophone Editor’s Choice, 20/20 de MusikAnSich.de, Amazon’s Choice, Clef du mois de Resmusica, Rondo Magazine, 5 croches de Pizzicato, Choc de Classica & prise de son du mois de Classica, 5 de Diapason, Choix de France Musique, Clic de Classiquenews.
In addition to the creation of new concert and recording programmes, future projects include concerts in Canada and Poland, and an extended tour of rural areas in the Centre-Val de Loire Region on board the Opéra Bus, a bus converted into a mobile concert hall.
La Rêveuse receives support from the Ministère de la Culture and the Région Centre-Val de Loire as an ensemble conventionné, and from the City of Orléans. Mécénat Musical Société Générale is the principal patron of La Rêveuse. The ensemble’s vocal activities also receive support from the Fondation Orange. It is a member of the professional bodies FEVIS, Profedim and the Bureau-Export.
