Le Consort brings together young musicians who share a common sensibility and enthusiasm. Created at the instigation of Théotime Langlois de Swarte and Justin Taylor, the ensemble explores repertories as varied as they are complementary. Eighteenth-century instrumental music lies at the heart of their project: both trio sonatas, which represent the quintessence of Baroque chamber music, and classical music with a fortepiano. Le Consort is in residency at the Banque de France in Paris. In June 2017, Le Consort won First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Loire Valley International Early Music Competition, whose jury president is William Christie. The ensemble has already played in Paris, at the MA Festival in Bruges, at the Dijon Opera, at the Sablé Festival, in Monaco, in Poland... Le Consort will record, for the Alpha Classics label, a disc devoted to the Complete Trio Sonatas of Jean-François Dandrieu (OPUS 1, september 2019). The Consort is also deeply involved with vocal music. The instrumentalists work closely with the mezzo-soprano Eva Zaïcik (Victoires de la Musique “Revelation”, 2nd Prize Queen Elisabeth…). Their work together has resulted in a recording of French cantatas for Alpha Classics (Venez chère ombre, CHOC Classica). The ensemble is in residency at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.
